Gathering and Use of Personal Information

Correction/Updating/Deletion of Personal Information

Concentric will take action on your request only where it is not inconsistent with our legal and regulatory obligations. We will also give you a copy of the Personal Information we have retained. There may be a minimal charge for accessing your Personal Information.

Security

We have implemented security measures to protect the confidentiality of your Personal Information and to protect your Personal Information from loss, misuse, alteration or destruction. Only authorized personnel of Concentric have access to your Personal Information, and these personnel are required to treat the information as confidential. The security measures in place will, from time to time, be reviewed in line with legal and technical developments.

Retention of Personal Information

We will hold your Personal Information only for as long as it is necessary for us to do so, having regard to the purposes described in this Privacy Policy and our own legal and regulatory requirements. In accordance with our record keeping obligations we will retain Accounts and Personal Information for, at least a period of five years after they are closed.

BI/SI Privacy Statement

Concentric Advisors, Inc., among other things, pre-employment screening services. In our normal course of work, we collect personal information such as names, addresses, social security numbers, date of birth, credit history, criminal records, employment history, educational history, credentials and more, as permitted by law. Information is obtained from a variety of sources, including but not limited to primary records repositories (courts, police, corrections departments, etc.), Departments of Motor Vehicles, prior employers, and previous educational institutions. The information is compiled into a report, commonly referred to as a “Consumer Report” or a “Background Screening Report.” Information is collected primarily for the purposes of pre-employment screening on behalf of employers or potential employers who have a legitimate reason for requesting the information, and only with the written, unambiguous consent from the individual subject to our inquiries. The information we collect is not used for any other purpose. It is not sold or distributed to any other parties. The information is also not used to compile direct mail lists. We do not conduct investigations for Private Investigators or bill collectors (with certain exceptions). Data is transmitted using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) software, which encrypts information. The data is stored in a secure environment accessible only to the client who requested the report and to authorized Concentric personnel who work directly on the report. A copy of an individual’s Consumer Report may be requested only by the client who originally ordered the report, or by the subject of the report. Report requests are generally processed within 48 hours from when the request is received. Concentric takes the security and privacy of consumer information very seriously. At Concentric the confidentiality of the information entrusted to us is of utmost importance. Our staff is under strict confidentiality and compliance agreements, as are our clients. All data collection, storage and utilization procedures practiced by Concentric are intended to comply with all applicable laws, which include the U.S. Federal Fair Credit Reporting Act, foreign, state or local background screening and privacy laws.
